Part of The Heart of Green Valley series
It has been fourteen years since the end of the Great War and Grace doesn't think she will ever recover from the loss of Johnny. She is a committed spinster-aunt, despite her mother's attempt to introduce her to eligible bachelors.
When a stranger comes to town looking for work, her mother is instantly alert to possibilities. Grace admits he is handsome, but their first encounter was enough to put her off him for life.
Things change when circumstances throw Alex and Grace together to survive. But Alex has a secret that could destroy them all.
And now Grace has a secret - one that won't stay hidden.
This story doesn't sugar-coat the ugly effects of sin. It shows how one mistake can have dire consequences, and how condemnation can destroy relationships. This story spoke to my heart. It made me contemplate scripture, and gave me fresh insight into ‘rebuke’ vs ‘judgment’. Although this book is part of the Green Valley series, it works well as a stand-alone novel.

This 6th book highlights how individuals and small communities had to help each other with understanding, faith and love to try and recover from the grief and the disruptions caused by World War I. As with Meredith’s other books, I found this hard to put down...

In ‘Echoes in the Valley’, main characters Grace and Alex face a sensitive situation which is made even more urgent because they live in the Great Depression era. It’s good to experience the attitudes of times long past through the tension in these stories. For readers who have read previous Green Valley novels, we also get to catch up with other favourite characters.
